The movie Nil Battey Sannata is drama-comedy film directed by debutant Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and is co-written by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Neeraj Pandey, Pranjal Chaoudary and Nitesh Tiwari. Under the banners of Colors Yellow Productions and JAR Pictures by Anand L. Rai, Ajay Rai, and Alan McAlex and was distributed by Eros International. The film features Swara Bhasker and Ria Shukla as the lead protagonist with Ratna Pathak, Pankaj Tripathi and Sanjay Suri in the pivotal roles. The music of the film was given by Rohan and Vinayak and cinematography and editing was handled by Gavemic U. Ary and Chandrashekhar Prajapati respectively. Nil Battey Sannata was released on 22nd April 2016 with the running time as 104 minutes. The film got a positive response from the critics and the audience as well. It grossed 69 million in the box office collection. The film managed to collect many awards with one to Iyer as the best debut director at the 62nd Filmfare Awards. Meanwhile, Swara and Ria won the Best Actress (critics) and best child artist respectively. the film was good enough and got its remakes released in other languages like, it was remade in Tamil language and named as Amma Kanakku and was also directed by Iyer, afterward the movie was also released in Malayalam as Udaharanam Sujatha.
