Batti Gul Meter Chalu (English Meaning: Lights off, Meter on), is a 2018 Indian social problem film, directed by Shree Narayan Singh and jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, Nishant Pitti, and Krishan Kumar. The film tells the story of a long prevalent issue of inflated electricity bills in rural India that comes to the news every now and then. It casts Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles. Principal photography started in February 2018 in Tehri, Uttarakhand and concluded in July 2018.
