Thor: Ragnarok End Credits Had A Major Avengers: Infinity War Spoiler That No One Spotted

The Phase 3 of Marvel Cinematic Universe has been pretty eventful as it brought in game-changing events ranging from catastrophes on Planet Earth to catastrophes in the entire Universe. It has not yet ended as 3 movies are yet to come, but we know that we are already done with one of the major events, which was Avengers: Infinity War. Thanos has clearly won the first round and it will take everything from the remaining Avengers to undo the damage done by Mad Titan and exact a revenge on him.

Here’s what Russo Brothers said in this regard:

“We will say this, obviously Thanos is a very formidable villain and to beat Thanos will come at a very high cost. We’re committed to stakes, we believe in stakes, and we like to shake up the Marvel Universe. We had a big game-changer at the end of Winter Soldier, had a big game-changer at the end of Civil War, a big game-changer at the end of Infinity War. Obviously, there will be a big game changer at the end of Avengers 4.”

Marvel was building up to ‘Infinity War’ right from the start of the MCU, but movies like Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther really opened up right into Infinity War being the last two movies to come out before this mega-crossover event. Although the two movies were stand-alone, they had massive Infinity War Easter-eggs that you may have missed.

Avengers: Infinity War was full of fan-pleasing and jaw-dropping events. It was as if we were watching a high budget and the long episode of Game of Thrones as so many story arcs were going on at once, converging into a singular finale that connects at the very end. There were twists and turns in almost every aspect of the movie as the fans got to see so many thrilling moments and character deaths throughout its run-time. The ending was unbelievably scary as our worst nightmare actually came true.

There were so many theories surrounding the movie and some of those even turned out to be true when we got to see the film. Having so many thrilling moments in one single movie, it was obviously prone to a lot of spoilers. What we did not know is that some of those spoilers were actually teased by Marvel way before the movie even came out.

Recently, a Reddit user was able to spot something that would have been a spoiler for Infinity War if people would have noticed it before the movie came out. This came from the credits sequence of Thor: Ragnarok. The third Thor movie lead right into Avengers: Infinity War as Thanos’ sanctuary arrived in front of the Asgardian Ship and the next thing we saw was Thanos wiping out half the population on that ship and us not knowing the whereabouts of the other half. The Reddit user posted this image:

In this image as we can see, Thor is mourning the death of Loki, which eventually occurred right in the beginning of Infinity War. So this foreshadowing was deliberately done for eagle-eyed fans to spot the reference. It is great how sneaky the people at Marvel are plotting courses way ahead and hiding really important things in plain sight.

Something like this was also spotted in the end credits of Black Panther as if the fans would have been able to link that, then the ending of Avengers: Infinity War which was so shocking and had a huge impact on the audiences would have been totally spoiled for them. Black Panther was another revolutionary movie which did not engage much with the outer MCU except for having a few nods here and there, and it focused on telling its own story.

But the end credits of Black Panther that come right after T’Challa buying the neighborhood Erik was brought up that totally gave us a tease at the end of Infinity War, only if the fans knew that something like this was going to occur in the crossover event. Here, check out the credits sequence very carefully if you have not:

Now, what we can see over here is that every animation that takes place in this sequence, the little movie scenes, the character appearances, for example, Black Panther and Killmonger, they appear in a kind of dusty silhouette which was actually the patter for the entire sequence. If we notice carefully, Black Panther’s silhouette actually flies off as sand, and so does Killmonger’s! Killmonger, as we know, died at the end of Black Panther, so there’s that.

But Black Panther carried his legacy through Infinity War as well. And to the surprise of everyone, the end of Infinity War was actually similar to this end credits sequence. The jaw-dropping end of Infinity War showed Thanos snapping his fingers, and finishing the purpose of his life, which was to wipe out half the population of the entire Universe, so the rest half could live in peace. This caused the disintegration of half the population, and we saw half of the heroes getting turned to dust and fly off in the wind which was heartbreaking.

So, this is something Marvel may be hinting at as they already make us stay right till the very end to look at the post-credits scene, but now they are adding useful stuff which may actually happen in the future movies within the credits as well! The message here is that we might as well watch the credits carefully making ourselves useful for the last 5-10 minutes till the time the credits roll.
