10 Reasons Why Captain America Should Be Killed Off In Avengers Infinity War

There are more than a few major characters in the final two parts of the Avengers. Phase three is about to end and Phase Four is about to begin. If you want something you need to let go of some. This is exactly the case with the star cast and if we want the universe to move forward we would need some characters to die.

Here’s what Chris Evans said about his contract with the Marvel which makes it all the more reason for him to go:

“I had six films in my Marvel contract, so I could have said after the third Avengers I was done, but they wanted to make the third and fourth Avengers films as a two-parter, They said they had so many other characters to fit in, Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, and couldn’t get them all into one movie. (I came back) because it made sense. It’s going to wrap everything up.”

Here we list 10 reasons why the God’s righteous man and leader of ‘The Avengers’ should be killed off at least by the final part of Infinity War:

It Would Break Monotony

Yeah, it feels good to hear Cap talk all big and Stark connecting the films, but that just makes the films more predictable, and sometimes even boring.

People know that in the end, however big a problem, someone among the big guys is going to save their ass, which at times is not what the fans want. If Captain America dies it would give something new to the audience.

It Would Give A True Sense Of War

What makes a film good is how much the audience can connect to it. Of course, we can’t actually feel the pressure that is always there in Hulk’s mind, but what we can feel is the desperation, the remorse, and the novelty that the characters and the story give us.

Till now, Marvel has played patty cakes with villains who are just too weak to pose any significant challenge to our beloved superheroes. Loki and Hela are ofcose exceptions in this regard. But Mad Titan ‘Thanos’ is as big and terrifying as it can get.

Death Could Be A Beginning

Well, a death many times is just the beginning. Meaning a death of a character sets the film to a totally new phase. Be it Agent Coulson’s death motivating the Avengers to come together or be it Quicksilver dying and saving Hawkeye, both deaths made a good impact and gave the heroes and the fans a great cinematic moment to remember. And of course Yondu, we all love you.

In the same way, Cap’s death could be a new beginning for the universe. Infact, there is a strong speculation that there will be a scene from comics where Cap openly confronts Thanos after he has killed an entire roster of superheroes. He stares at death itself and Thanos decided to set an example of him for the world to see how evil he can be. This was the most heart-breaking moment in Marvel comics which must be replicated on the big screen. It has the greatest shock value that one can imagine.

Could Bring Back The Avengers

The Avengers when were split, it looked more like as a fight between Pals, that is until the Winter Soldier’s video killing Stark’s parents was shown.

Now Cap taking his side has divided the team really good, and we would need a really big moment to bring back the team, and that calls for a major character’s death.

Would Help With Bringing Up More Solo Movies

Recurring characters such Natasha Romanoff, The Falcon have not had their solo films. This can be changed by killing off Cap and giving more room to these characters to shine.

Recently, Marvel Studios has hinted at a solo Black Widow movie which has been the long standing demand of the fans. The God of Marvel comics aka Stan Lee confirmed at Supernova Comic Con, Brisbane (Australia) that Black Widow movie is in the works. In the past, Chris Evans had come out openly in support of a standalone Black Widow movie as he feels Natasha has played a critical role in the Marvel movies and she certainly deserves her own movie.

Give Chance To Other Avengers

Yeah, we love how Captain America leads the Avengers and Tony Stark shapes the whole universe, but it’s a bit too much if you ask us. The faces become old and people need to have new leaders so that it is Marvel or the characters that the people are connected to and not just the actor in the suit.

Bucky Barnes aka Winter soldier is the best successor to Steve Rogers who can don the mantle of Captain America in the MCU and carry forward his legacy. He was the best friend of Rogers and fought alongside him during the World War II. Both of them beat Red Skull and saved the world from his tyranny.

Would Make Thanos Look Powerful

Thanos undoubtedly is going to be a really bad character. With him taking the Marvel phase 3 to its end, the MCU needs to have and probably will have some of the big heroes fall by the end of the second part of the film, it could very well be anyone of the Avengers Prime – Cap, Thor and Iron Man.

It is now confirmed that a major character will die as there is a funeral scene in the movie. Recently, a casting call of Infinity War validated this claim, here is the description:

“Mourners: Looking for men and women over the age of 18, all ethnicities, to portray mourners. Especially looking for good character looks and expressive faces. This will be photo selected by the film’s directors! Size restrictions: Men no larger than 44 coat, women dress size 0-8. FOR NEW FACES ONLY! You cannot have worked on this project previously, or be booked on upcoming days. NO EXCEPTIONS!”

This is 99% Steve Rogers as he is the only one who would attract people from all walks of life to pay their respects to him upon his death fighting the Mad Titan.

We Have Bucky and Sam

Captain America Civil War

In comics, there have been more than a few people who have held the title of Captain America. Be it Bucy Banes or Sam Wilson aka Falcon that has come to be known as Captain America or anyone else, the point is that we have a lot of options and two of them we have with us in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

So in order to grow, we could have anyone else as Captain America and have the legacy of Captain America growing strong and not just the run of Chris Evans.

Help Launch Phase 4

Phase 4 would have heroes such as Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Black Panther and more, in order to do that we would need the current big daddies such as Iron Man and Captain America to go.

If these people go, the next generation of Avengers would be able to take charge like they did in comics.

Bring The Series To A Modern Age

Captain Marvel & captain america avengers

Well yes, we have the Avengers already set in a modern age but still with the Golden Age heroes holding prominence we are quite unable to see the charm and heroism of the present day modern heroes.

With these ‘old men’ gone it would give the modern day heroes a good chance to shine.
