12 EPIC Movie Moments That Happened By Accident  

When the director makes a movie, not all plans fall into place, not all shots are captured perfectly, not all dialogues are spoken eloquently. There are always mistakes made by the filmmakers and it’s being human. But sometimes the mistakes committed led to the best scenes ever, there are incredible co-incidences which transform a normal scene into the most memorable thing ever put on the big screen.

Here’re instances where actors went off-script and ended up creating famous moments in the history of cinema:

Midnight Cowboy:

A very popular scene “I’m walking here!” where Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight were actually hit by a New York cab driver and it was totally unplanned for cast and crew of the movie. Hoffman stayed in the character and turned the scene into one of the most unforgettable moments in movie history.

Django Unchained:

In the 2012 movie Django Unchained directed by Quentin Tarantino, the famous Calvin Candie’s climactic monologue, where Leonardo Di Caprio’s character (plantation owner) threatened to kill Django’s wife at the dinner table in front of her husband. After a few retakes, he slammed his own hand hard which shattered a real glass and blood started coming out of his palm. But Leo being Leo stayed in the character which turned this into an epic scene. 

Guardians of the Galaxy:

When Star Lord and other members were introduced to the Collector, Star Lord presented the Orb which contained an Infinity Stone, it accidently dropped to the ground but the editing team found it to be interesting so they left it as it is.

The Lord of the Rings:

Viggo Mortensen a.k.a. Aragorn is known to perform his own stunts. In the Fellowship of the Ring, when the stunt-man threw a knife at him, he greatly misjudged it and ended up hurting the actor’s face. But the scene remained in the movie. In LOTR: The Twin Towers, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli were in pursuit of locating their hobbit friends but they came across carcasses of orcs who were supposedly with them. Aragorn got angry and hit a rock which broke his toes. The pain was captured and used in the movie.

Pulp Fiction:

Quentin Tarantino is a master film-maker but his movies aren’t entirely devoid of mistakes. In the cult movie Pulp Fiction, there is a scene where bullet holes appeared behind Jules and Vincent without shots being fired.

Star Trek Beyond:

Chris Pine (who played Captain Kirk) sustained real injuries from many fist-fights he found himself; in Jack Ryan too he suffered greatly but instead of covering the black eye with make-up, the film-makers decided to keep it.

The Dark Knight:

Heath Ledger played famous Batman villain Joker and completely nailed it. He immortalized the character by his spectacular performance, it felt as if pages of comic-book have come onscreen. There was a scene when he was locked in a cell and Gordon is promoted to Commissioner, Gotham city. Everyone is cheering him and then out of the blue Heath Ledger started clapping which was never intended, but it was so good. Another scene from the movie was when he fiddled with the remote and caused series of explosions at Gotham city hospital.

The 40 Year Old:

Steve Carell actually went through waxing procedure and since he is a hairy guy, it must have hurt him a lot. The whole thing was captured and used in the final cut.

Alien:

The famous chest-burster scene from the movie where an alien is born ripping through the chest of a person. The horror, shock, and disgust on the face of the actor were so real and terrifying.

Fight Club:

When Edward Norton hit Brad Pitt on his face, it was actually real. David Fincher told Norton just seconds before that he is supposed to hit him and he did which hurt Brad Pitt. He said “You hurt my ear” is a genuine reaction from him.

Casino Royale:

Daniel Craig was not supposed to come out of the water, he was required to exchange looks with the actress, but he came out and women went berserk when they his sculpted body.

The Usual suspects:

When the criminals were lined up in a cell, it was supposed to be a very serious scene but instead they are all laughing as Benicio Del Toro kept farting and they kept this scene as it showed camaraderie between the characters.
