10 Insane Alternate Endings Of Superhero Movies

Sometimes we do not like the way in which the particular movies ends. Then comes out the news of the movies having a surprise twist at the end which it did not have in the original cut of the movie and we wish that it were true. So, here is a list of movies that had crazy endings originally which were not used at the end.

The Amazing Spider-man 2 – Peter’s dad is alive!

movies

We saw that Peter finds the gold coins in his father’s briefcase which lead him to the subway where he got to know that his parents were on the run and in the beginning of the movie we saw them die in a plane crash. In a surprise plot twist, at the end of the movie, when Peter is at the grave of Gwen Stacy, his dad just shows up out of nowhere alive and well and gives him the old “With great power comes great responsibility” to get him back to being Spider-man again.

Avengers 2 – Quicksilver lives!

Joss Whedon had another ending which we might have totally loved as may be all of us loved Quicksilver in Age of Ultron. At the end of the movie, instead of being dead, he heals due to his quick healing factor and we see him assemble with other Avengers in a totally new suit. Well, this would have been awesome to see but it would have surely enhanced the no killing problem that Marvel faces.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Peter’s Grandfather

In the movie young Peter Quill is kidnapped at the beginning of the film and he ends up becoming the famed mercenary Star-Lord before teaming up with a group of outcasts to become the heroic Guardians of the Galaxy. The film ended on a happy note as we see Peter open his mother’s gift. But originally, the film was going to end with Peter’s grandfather on Earth still waiting to someday see his grandson again. It means that he must have seen Quill getting abducted at the end of that day and is still waiting for him to return.

The Wolverine – The classic costume debuts!

At the end of the second solo outing of our favourite clawed mutant, we see him taking off in a plane. That scene had an addition to it as he gets a gift Yukio, which is briefcase. Logan opens it and finds out the yellow costume which we are more used to seeing in the comics and animated TV series.

Iron Man 2 – Pepper is taken, hostage

In the movie we saw Iron-Man teaming up with War Machine against Vanko and his armoured drones. However, the original ending was a bit more personal, as Vanko kidnapped Iron Man’s love interest, Pepper Potts, and held her hostage until Iron Man agreed to give himself up, and Tony Stark went out of his armor to appease Vanko. Naturally, he still had some tricks up his sleeve (plus War Machine to help out). Director Jon Favreau decided to go with the more spectacular ending.

Thor – Jane makes a beacon for Thor

At the end of Thor, Bifrost got destroyed and Thor could not returnto Earth to meet his new love again. With Thor now stranded, Jane and her team of researchers tried to find a way to reach Asgard again. In the deleted original ending, Jane and her colleague, Darcy, leave out a beacon in the sky for Thor to see. Meanwhile, her other colleague, Dr. Erik Selvig, is trying to create a wormhole to get to Asgard and he mentions S.W.O.R.D., the alien-protection wing of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Ant-Man – Ant-Man stops the Hydra agent

At the end of the film, one of the people bidding on the Yellowjacket technology was a Hydra agent, who ran off with some Pym Particles. While it never was addressed in the rest of the film, it is not necessarily a plot hole, though it was still pretty strange to have that plot just go unresolved. As it turned out, they actually did film an ending where Ant-Man defeated the spy and got the Pym Particles back. However, it was then replaced by the teaser scene setting up Captain America: Civil War.

Iron Man – Obadiah Stane escapes

Obadiah Stane was the best Iron man villain in the entire trilogy and it would have been great if we would have gotten more of him. Well, it turns out that it was possible. In the theatrical cut, we saw him die in the Iron Monger suit, but Originally, all of that work spent building up Stane would not end with just his death. No, originally Stane was going to survive his encounter with Iron Man and head off to plot against Iron Man in the future. It is unclear if he would have come back into the picture in the sequel or just be on the run as a possible future threat.

X-men The Last Stand – Rogue and Wolverine return

As X-Men The Last Stand was meant to be the last part to feature all the X-Men until it was decided to bring them back in Days of Future past, a bunch of stuff was filmed to show the ending of the movie. There was one unused ending where Rogue returned to the school with her powers intact. There was one ending that showed Beast running the school with Storm. Finally, one ending showed Wolverine going back to the bar that he was found in in the first X-Men film, bringing things full circle.

Iron Man 3 – Slattery explodes

movies

We saw Trevor Slattery being broken out of prison in the short film “All hail the king”. But, before that, there was a deleted scene at the end of Iron Man 3 where Slattery injecting himself with the extremis virus and he ended up exploding as his body could not take it.
