The Most Adorable Marvel Character Will Return For Avengers Infinity War

We know that in Avengers 4, the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy will join forces to fight against the Mad Titan. But before that, we are not sure if Guardians would appear, when and how. Well, if we trace the last time we saw them, they were in those five post-credit scenes of GOTG Vol. 2, some of them were just humorous extensions while a couple set the stage for future MCU movies.

In one of the five post-credit scenes, we got a first look at Teen Groot, when Star Lord entered into the room and complained that he didn’t clean it yet while Teen Groot continued to play video games. James Gunn, the director of GOTG confirmed that Teen Groot will be seen in Avengers Infinity War. He said in an interview:

“He’s exactly the same. That’s exactly the Groot we designed for Infinity War.”

Moreover, the post-credit scene was 4 years hence the movie and Avengers Infinity War is 4 years hence the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.  James Gunn elaborated how the life of a creature like Groot is nothing like our own. He said:

“Well, you know, it’s complicated. I think you have to stick through future movies to find out exactly what the story of Groot is. I get a lot of questions, and the thing I say that bums people out more than anything else is that Baby Groot doesn’t have the memories of Adult Groot. But it’s complicated! His life is not like our lives… It’s his aging, and Groots, where they come from and how they do their thing. It’s pretty much worked out in my head, but we’ve only let out pieces of that.”

James Gunn dropped a bombshell in the same interview when he revealed the behind-the-scenes story regarding a certain post-credit scene. He literally had to fight Marvel for Adam Warlock appearance. This is what he had to say:

“I had to fight for Adam in the post-credits sequence. Because I really thought that’s where that should go. And I thought one of the main reasons to have the Sovereign in the movie was to give audiences the hint that Adam Warlock is coming. That was one of the reasons for them to exist. And I wrote that post-credits sequence in the first draft of the script. And then there were a lot of questions about whether or not we should put that in there, because people were going to expect Adam Warlock in Infinity War. So one of the things I promised, which I do all of the time on Twitter, is letting everyone know that Adam Warlock is not going to be in Avengers 3 or Avengers 4. It’s just not going to happen. Because I didn’t want people to have false expectations of what they thought was going to happen with Adam.”

In the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1, Groot sacrificed himself to save the fellow team-mates from inevitable death. It was truly heroic and a noble act, for moment fans cried at the loss of Groot but then he re-appeared as Baby Groot which brought a smile to everyone’s face.

He was seen dancing behind Drax’s back and then reprised his role in GOTG Vol. 2 uttering the phrase “I am Groot”, voice-over given by famous actor Vin Diesel.

In 2014, the studio almost achieved the impossible with the spectacular success of Guardians of the Galaxy. Only the passionate fans of Marvel comics were fully aware of characters – Star Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel), Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) etc.

The sequel to the popular Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 picked up from where first movie left off The Guardians of the Galaxy 2 had all the main characters and more in it such as Nebula (Karen Gillan), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Yondu (Michael Rooker).

It was one of the most amazing feats by Marvel, as they managed to not just introduce these characters well, instead made audience adore them more than expected.

Chris Pratt played the role of Star Lord/Peter Quill in his own inimitable style with immaculate comic timing. The most powerful secret of Guardians series was the identity of Peter Quill’s father.

In comic-world, his father is Jason Quill (J’son of Spartax, Emperor of Spartoi empire, second son of galactic Emperor) but that was’nt the case in the movie. Kurt Russell brought into the cast and portrayed the role of Peter Quill’s father. He is playing Ego the Living Planet.

Baby Groot recently found his way on the cover of Empire magazine with a mangled mess of cassette tape titled Awesome Mix Vol. 2, the last gift Star Lord got from his dying mother. Just like before, the awesome mix will play an important role in the GOTG Vol.2 soundtrack. Vin Diesel said in an interview with ScreenRant –

“I’m excited about Baby Groot; he’s just too fun. And in Infinity War, I have to talk to the Russo brothers and find out how this is all gonna go down. I know somewhere in the Marvel universe there is a moment when you will see Groot and Hulk have a few words. I think there’s gonna be a moment that we’re all waiting for, and whether you know it or not, you are waiting to see Groot and the Hulk get down”.

Well, let’s see if this meeting takes place or not in Infinity War. CHEERS!
