5 Times Spider-Man Was Broken Emotionally

Of course, Uncle Ben’s death was the most influential emotional breakdown in Spider-Man’s life, but there were much more. Some of which have been listed here:

Black Cat Loses Interest In Spidey

There was a time when Spider-Man and Black Cat aka Felecia, who was also Peter Parker’s classmate were involved in an intimate relationship. Though confusing, this relationship was an ecstatic one, both fighting off criminals and high on adrenaline kissing each other. After finding out that Spidey is actually Peter, she loses interest in him, leaving him emotionally broken.

Osborn Family Drama

After finding out that Norman Osborn is the one who is actually Green Goblin, it becomes extremely hard for Peter to face Harry, Norman’s son and Peter’s best friend. Where he actually has to comfort his friend, even after knowing all the truth about his father’s horrible deeds and still being quiet about his father’s identity.

Gwen Stacy’s Death

No matter how much the story is loved today, at the time when it was first published, Gwen Stacy’s death was the first big superhero love interest to die by the hands of a villain. This was truly a defining moment for the bronze age comics as it not only changed the trend but here it’s actually Spidey’s webbing trying to save Gwen, that leads to snapping her neck.

Erasing His Marriage

Once, Peter had it all. Who would have ever thought that a science nerd would get a hot redhead coming up to him? He was with Mary Jane, and though the relationship had some problems, with the stillborn kid being born amongst them, it was very beautiful. But it all ended when Aunt May is dying and Peter trades the existence of his marriage for Aunt May’s life with Mephisto.

Gwen And Norman Osborn’s Affair

The character assassination of Gwen Stacy was even more awful than her death. As here due to a bad storyline, Gwen and Norman Osborne’s kids are shown to be born at a speeding rate, with Mary Jane leaking this information out to Peter, even putting her in a bad light. This arc had no positives at all and was hated by the fans.
