The latest trailer of the upcoming Alex Kurtzman directorial, The Mummy, gives a freaking dark insight of the evil spirits to hordes of rats and vampires. This is the first time that Tom Cruise’s fans will see him fighting with an ancient mummy tucked beneath a desert from thousands of years. Playing the role of archaeologist Nick Morton, Tom Cruise has entered a phase of his film career, fighting underwater, stuck in a crashing plane and so much explosion in the city.
The movie seems to have put Cruise on the run battling and struggling to fight with the dead. As per the movie-plot, princess Ahmanet, portrayed by Sofia Boutella, is buried in a tomb deep underneath a desert where she was iniquitously consigned to the grave. But as she is awakened today, she spreads evilness and terror around the city challenging humans of the consequences and pain she had been through.
But why was graved? Well, it all happened after she slit her father’s throat and kills him. And that’s when she is punished and being buried alive. But then she is resurrected and then rest of the story is easy to digest.
The trailer specifically reflects how Cruise’s character discovers the tomb and later on tries to stop her from debilitating the humans. And when you have awakened a mummy? You can expect a strong pace action scenes, chases, and destruction, with nightmarish creatures going around.
After The Invisible Man, Frankenstein, and The Wolf Man, The Mummy is the first reboot in the Universal Monsters shared-universe. The film cast includes Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance and Russell Crowe. And it seems like this flick is going to scare the shit out of you. So get ready for the roller coaster ride.
The Mummy is scheduled to hit theaters on June 9, 2017.
