Justice League: Two Major DC Players Are Coming Back

While the upcoming Justice League is set to properly introduce members The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg to movie audiences, fleshing out the characters so we have a better grasp on where they stand in the group. It seems like they would not be the only ones as the DCEU film has also been reported to bring two players from previous movies.

Collider reports that Batman v Superman’s Lex Luthor (Jessie Eisenberg) and Wonder Woman’s Amazonian queen Hippolyta will be a part of Justice League. The news comes in part of an official press kit for Warner Bros upcoming 2017 releases.

Lex Luthor was last seen as a controversial figure in Batman V Superman. As he is the only character to have communication with Justice League’s supervillain Steppenwolf(in a deleted scene), it should not be surprising to discover that he will be part of the new movie. Jesse Eisenberg had already hinted his return during a panel at MCM London Comic Con back in May. The actor said:

“…if I say anything wrong I get, you know, picked off. But yeah I think so, and I love it, and I love everybody who’s in it.”

Queen Hippolyta will make her debut in next year’s Wonder Woman movie. As the movie will explore the origins of Wonder Woman from her home of Themyscira, audiences will learn more about the relationship between the superhero and her mother. Her return in Justice League may be connected to the storyline of Wonder Woman’s solo film.

Since The Mother Boxes will play such a significant role in the upcoming DCEU movies, it’s not surprising to hear that Lex and the Queen will be in Justice League. As Luthor has already showcased an intense interest in Batman V Superman and Themyscira has a Box in their possession.  Other cast members that have been listed include Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Amber Heard as Mera, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Diane Lane as Mrs. Kent, and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
