6 Infinity Gems in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

We know that Marvel Cinematic universe will systematically expand to 67 characters and many will appear in the Avengers Infinity War. The Russo Brothers said in a panel “We thought the most compelling way to start off Infinity war would be to have the Avengers fight off each other when the greatest threat they will ever face shows up”. They further clarified that Avengers 3 & 4 have completely separate storylines, one is from Team Avengers perspective while the last one is entirely based on Thanos character arc.

The classic comic-book story is unlikely to change much where Thanos first finds out where all the Infinity gems are, assemble them and create an all-powerful Infinity gauntlet, cause a world-wide catastrophe and then in Avengers 4, Team Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy unite and fight against the mad Titan to save the world.

Here’s a list of Infinity gems and their current location in the MCU:

Power gem:

It is purple in colour and gives the user ability to access all forms of energy and boosts the power of other gems. It is also lying with the Collector.

Reality gem:

It is the Aether from Thor: The Dark World, it has superlative mystical abilities, grants the user to make things happen that are otherwise impossible. It is with the Collector for now.

Time gem:

It is green in colour and we will see it for the first time in Dr Strange which allows the user to control time.

Soul gem:

It is blue in color which gives the user the innate abilities to see across the entire universe. Some fans believe that Heimdall is the guardian of the soul gem.

Mind gem:

It is yellow in colour when it’s used with power gem it allows the user to simultaneously track the minds of all beings in the galaxy and manipulate them at will. It is in Vision’s forehead and Thanos will come for it.

Space gem:

It is the first Infinity stone, popularly known as Tesseract which allows you to be omnipresent and warp yourself in any part of the universe. It is orange in color (although it was shown in blue) and sits at the top of the fist.

Note: Colours of gems in MCU is different from Marvel comics.
