Honda has Returned With its 5-door Civic Hatchback

When it was announced by Honda that it would introduce 10th-generation Civic, it promised that the US would be receiving three different variants of the car — sedan, coupe, and a five-door hatchback. The first two of them are already on sale, but now it’s time to feast your eyes upon the third that is the Hatchback. Take a look at the civic hatchback :

Honda is here with a new civic model which is going to be a hatchback. It would be the company’s first five-door civic hatch and will be for the U.S. market and will go as a 2017 model. The new Civic by Honda joins sedan and coupe models and will be preceding the Type-R which will also be a hatchback that will get launched in 2017. In the Paris auto show that will be held in the next month, Honda is expected to show a Civic Type-R concept as per the reports of the media. Only the turbocharged engine will be available in this series. In LX, EX and EX-L trim model, the 1.5-liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine will make a horsepower of 174 hp and 162 pounds-feet of torque. Thanks to the high-flow center-mounted exhaust that boosted the horsepower to 180 hp while the torque remaining the same.

A simultaneous variable transmission will be available in all its models whereas a 6-speed manual transmission will be offered in the LX, EX, and Sport models excluding the EX-L or Sport Touring. Sport Touring model will make a no. of optional technologies standard, including Honda Sensing, LED headlights, Apple CarPlay, heated rear seats and Android Auto. It’s been said that Honda will make the hatchback in Swindon, England, and will ship it to North America. It will go on sale this fall and prices will be announced at that time though expectations are that is would not be a big increase over the turbocharged Civic sedan EX-T that is priced at $23035.
