He clearly says that his master has presented him with a sock signifying that Harry is considered as his new master, yet at the same time, declaring the truth that he is free. How amazing it is that in such a friendship, He believes that Harry could be his master yet let him be free.

Bellatrix was truly the one he had to fight to save Harry and his friends yet he, the pure-hearted sweet little elf, tells her so truthfully that he never wished to have killed her, he just meant to injure her. How honest and beautiful is his heart?

Harry Potter freed Dobby. How can Dobby ever repay him?

Dobby, as beautiful and kind as he is, also knows how to be extremely grateful for even when two people are best of friends, it is important to be grateful for everything to each other. It makes us feel special. He is so grateful to Harry for having given him his most desired freedom that he wishes to know a way to repay Harry.

Dobby has to protect Harry Potter

What a little elf could have done to have saved a bunch of wizards? He did a lot though and successfully saved them all. His main focus though was Harry as he mentioned to him directly, loud enough, that he has to protect Harry Potter even though he knew it well enough that Harry could protect himself for he was “The boy who lived.”

He wishes to be the one to protect Harry’s heart as well. He doesn’t want Harry to be hurt in any way, physically or emotionally. There, he stands up for Harry assuming a few things but not being ashamed of having said something on Harry’s behalf.

Dobby is a free elf and Dobby has come to save Harry Potter and his friends

“Dobby has no master.” Sure Dobby, you are a free elf, you surely have no master and yet you’ve played your part so gorgeously that we all love you for who you are. That is one trait of a true friend that he possesses. He would do anything to keep his friend Harry Potter and all of his friends, safe.

And how much more is it all required to be proven that he is the best friend in all of the world’s history that he died to save his friends! The last words, as he spoke, I guarantee it that all of us cried rivers for he was someone, we all have truly loved. He is so extremely happy to be dying in Harry’s arms. He has no regret or any sort of sorrow that he dies. He dies happily for him. Just as Luna positively puts it, “There. Now he could be sleeping, peacefully.” That is a heart-wrenching moment, though. It really breaks one’s heart to see his face at the very moment.
