Yet again, the glam show is here in town- the Lakme Fashion Week – Winter Session 2015. The show that has been in the news every time it hits the ramp.
There are multi-talented designers like Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Ritu Kumar, Masaba Gupta, Raghavendra Rathore, Anita Dongre etc. who are the face behind the screen. The fashion world comes under one roof where glamour meets the eyes, where beauty is personified.
It is also a platform where upcoming designers get a chance to showcase their work in front of the world., where talent meets the Bollywood world. It is also a platform where the amateur photographers get a chance to showcase their talent. The bloggers meet the style divas and wish to work on their cover story. In short, it should be quoted as “A stage where talent, creativity and opportunity get recognition.”
Some highlights from the biggest fashion show- Lakme Fashion Week 2015.
The opening night featured the work of the fashion stylists Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla squad. The gold shimmer and retro look, took everyone’s hearts. The streamlined models danced to the retro number “Jawani Janeman”. The crowd roared to the disco song and the men walked in with the traditional ikat weave jackets. The designers paid off their tribute to Joy, Dance and Song in their work.

The chocolate boy, Shahid Kapur who got married recently, premiered with bae Mira Rajput. The couple making it big into the news, walked for Masaba Gupta. “Perfection at its best”. The Masaba Gupta show had another B-town star as her show stopper. He is none another then the hero from the upcoming movie fame, “Hero”- Sooraj Pancholi. The boy made a grand entrance at the Lakme Fashion Week, with his newest movie hitting the silver screen.

The celebrity designer Sonaakshi Raaj, premiered with her extravagant collection of The Runaway Bride Collection. Another B-town celeb walked the ramp for this designer. The actress Kriti Sanon from the movie fame “Heropanti” walked in wearing the ravish gown by the designer.

Making big news this year at Lakme Fashion Week, Anita Dongre was the undisputed star of the show this season. The designer along with the diva Dia Mirza, honoured the artisans and paid a tribute to the Benares weaves.
This season, the designer had the show stopper that no designer has ever had. The lady brought the artisans from the villages of India, who walked the ramp for the Grassroot- Anita Dongre. A move appreciated and supported to salute the artisans dwelling in the villages of India, who weave and work hard to provide the wardrobes we so admire.

The stand-up comedian, turned actor from the Delhi Belly fame, made it to the fashion world. Ahhh… What!!! Yes, you heard me right. The actor-turned -designer launched his collection “Pret- A-Funny”. The collection featured men’s boxers, men’s underwear, funky shirts and much more, in his collection. Some top actors walked the ramp for him, such as Taapsee Pannu, Sophie Choudry, Ali Fazal and the show stopper Aditi Rao Hydari.

All stage action and fashion drama came to an end with the mesmerizing Gaurav Gupta show. The grand finale at Mehboob Studio, Mumbai pulled the curtains up to the most happening show in the fashion world. With his stunning collection, the B-town designer pulled it off really very well. Guess who was the show stopper for last night? It was none other than the Begum- Kareena Kapoor Khan. The lady stole the show at the closing ceremony in a black Gaurav Gupta gown. A promise to catch up the next session Lakme Fashion Week closed with a note of “Keep Styling, up till the next season”.
