Will John Cena Be Making His Marvel Debut In Thor Ragnarok?

Thor Ragnarok, the third movie from the Thor franchise has been said to be a more colorful take than the previous two films. Not only does the film feature Thor’s fellow Avenger Bruce Banner/The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), it has a list of talented actors whom Hollywood considers to be the best of the best. The cast has included Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban and, of course, Jeff Goldblum. And it seems like another addition to the cast.

John Cena has made his name in the wrestling world by being the bad boy of WWE. The wrestler made a shift into films and had starred in movies such as Trainwreck, Sisters, and The Marine. According to website Movie Pilot, there were speculations that the wrestler/actor would make his debut in Marvel Cinematic Universe in the movie Thor: Ragnarok. The site came to this conclusion after Cena’s name was listed with the cast in the film’s IMDB page.

Having Cena be a part of the cast may be a boon for the movie, as the wrestler could showcase his prowess in man on man combat for the gladiator aspect of Ragnarok. The film has been said to have free bases from the Planet Hulk comics, with plenty of gore and fights being premises for the storyline (apart from the political play of The Hulk). Movie Pilot claimed that Cena was listed as playing himself, so who knows what that may entail for the movie. Cena has worked with Marvel in the past having done voice over for the character of The Hulk in Marvel Avengers Academy video game.

Thor Ragnarok

Thor Ragnarok has been said to be an intergalactic road trip movie between Thor and The Hulk. After Thor’s appearance in the end credit scene for Doctor Strange, it seems like Stephen Strange will also be playing a pivotal role in the upcoming movie. Taika Waititi has also claimed that the third Thor movie will be nothing like the first two movies, and with John Cena in the film, it seems like the director was not lying.
