A Major DC Character Joins the Justice Society of America

The executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in an interview “In Season 2, the composition of the team is going to change; there will be some new faces on the Wave-rider. The season finale planted some very significant flags in terms of what the new concept of the show will be in season 2. The team’s mission statement for Season 2 is more compelling than Season 1, and at the same time, it is more streamlined. It’s a little bit higher concept, a very clean notion that will allow the show to do things that it does best.”

In the Legends of Tomorrow season 1 finale, we saw Rex Tyler from Justice Society of America appearing before Captain Hunter and told him of the greater threat looming over them, he is played by Patrick J. Adams. He is the valued member of All-Squad Squadron. He was raised in upstate New York, had an extreme fondness for sciences, discovered a path-breaking chemical called “Miraclo”, became the superhero but he could use his superhero abilities only for an hour. He is also sometimes called “Hourman”. He is a series regular for season 2.

Recently, the show-makers have announced Legion of Doom for the upcoming season. The most fascinating thing about Legion of Doom is that they didn’t have comic book origins, instead, they first appeared in a Justice League animation movie in 1970’s called as “Superfriends”. In the show, it will consist of Time Criminals Reverse Flash/Eobard Thawne (Matt Letscher), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) and Damien Darhk (Neal Mcdonough). The story is set in 1940’s where we will meet Damien Darhk, Reverse Flash will time-travel to join Darhk, while Malcolm Merlyn and Captain Cold will be brought back in time.

There will be key members of Justice Society of America to take on Legion of Doom, it comprised of Dr. Nate Heywood (his grandfather Henry Heywood was Commander Steel who was a member of JSA). He will be played by Nick Zano. He is also known as “Citizen Steel”. We will also see Stargirl, Obsidian, Dr. Midnight and Vixen. The show-makers have almost confirmed that there will be Jay Garrick (Henry Allen Earth-2 doppelganger) in the season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow as he was also one of the founding members of JSA in DC Comics. John Wesley Shipp told EW “Yes, I have been given permission to say that they have all kinds of interesting and exciting plans for me, not only in the context of the storyline but they continue to spin out which will be challenging for me as an actor. Yes, I will be back next season in Flash, but if they are going to have a JSA, that’s got to include Jay Garrick.” The best guess as to where he would meet the JSA is during the four night DC Crossover of CW shows.
