Justice League Rebirth: Here’s Everything You Should Know

The DC universe has been rebooted as there was a wide consensus among fans that although the DC universe is wonderful and captivating but something was missing. The longtime DC comics writer turned Chief creative officer Geoff Johns is responsible for steering this initiative.

This is not the first time that there has been a “rebirth” event, New 52 was a major relaunch and revamp of comics in 2011, but it didn’t really go anywhere and lost its direction. The underlying idea is to explore new themes, chart new territory, bring new people into the mould and connect it with DC Cinematic universe. Geoff Johns is claiming that this exercise isn’t part of a normal restructuring of DC comic-book universe, but to change the status-quo and break new ground with new issues. For instance “Green Lantern: Rebirth” merely brought back Hal Jordan without any significant change in the stories.

Geoff Johns said it in an interview:

“If you look at the new Star Wars [The Force Awakens] — it’s kind of a rebirth, right? It goes back to the classic tropes of Star Wars, but it introduces new characters. New threats. It has the spirit of Star Wars, it feels like a Star Wars movie. Probably the first Star Wars movie that’s felt like a Star Wars movie in a long, long time. That’s a perfect example of what I think “Rebirth” is — a celebration, but it doesn’t mean we’re just going backwards. It’s an echo of the past, but looking to the future. That’s what I want to do with this.”

Flash Rebirth is one of the many significant events in DC Comics universe. The Pre- New 52 Kid Flash has returned after a long time, the classic version of Wally West. The new villain is the Godspeed, Barry Allen has a new partner in CCPD who is struck by the speedforce.

The Justice League comic-book is out posted the rebirth event, here we see Wonder woman truly being the classic warrior that she is, deflecting bullets with her shield as armed men are converging on her. The Green Lantern is in Beijing fighting a group of criminals hell-bent on destroying the city, Cyborg is trying to stop a high-speed train in New York while Flash is in San-Francisco trying to save people from total destruction. In the subsequent issues, there will be Batman, Superman and other members of Justice League battling it out against an unknown evil genius villain. Can they save the world once again?
