Most of the gym goers live in a myth that doing just the exercises is enough to get that perfect body! Well, no! There are many things that you need to do to get the most out of your rigorous workout sessions. Post workout regime is one such thing that most people tend to ignore. Post workout regime becomes as important as your workout sessions. Here are a few things you should do after you have finished your “date with dumbbells”:

Stretching:

One of the most important things to do after your workout sessions is stretching. If you don’t want to stretch, hop on to the treadmill for 10 minutes.

Cool off activities:

After your workout, your body needs some activities which can help in recovery. Try a few yoga postures and breathing exercises. Meditation is also a great way to cool off your body.

Get in front of the mirror and check that sexy muscles you’ve got. Also, in case you are wearing a fitness tracker, you can easily get the report of your activities. Try to maintain a spreadsheet about the activities you did and how much weight and reps you did for a particular exercise.

Drink, drink, drink:

Drink a lot of water post workout. Keeping yourself hydrated will make it up for the water lost as sweat.

Shake the protein:

After a few minutes have protein shake which will help in recovering and building muscles.

Sleep:

Yes, take a power nap of 10-15 minutes post workout. This is an essential part which most people don’t do.
