According to psychology, money plays a crucial role on an individual’s psyche. While one person may be drawn to another because of their bank balance, someone else might detest it. But money evokes all kinds of emotions in human beings.

You’ll have respect in the society if you have money. You’ll be a part of a certain social strata, which will eventually enhance your reputation. The functions of money are many. Yet, in a relationship, it plays a vital role.

If you earn more than what your partner makes, it automatically gives you an upper hand. However, your partner might even start feeling a little insecure at this inequality. Because let’s face it, no one desires an unequal relationship.

Money therefore doesn’t only provide you with social security but also boosts your self confidence. At the same time, instability of finance can lead to this conflict in a person’s conscience.

A part of dating comprises of money matters. But while such things may seem insignificant on the onset of the relationship, they can become the barriers of communication in the relationship. Such inequalities hardly ever lead to a happy ending and usually end with bitter breakups.

This is a major reason for young couples for not being able to sustain a relationship for as long as they would like to. Therefore, being honest about your earnings, what your fixed out-goings are, what you’re both planning to save and how you imagine spending that as you go forward in a relationship is a core value in any potential long-term future.

Being honest about one’s financial condition is a prerequisite to a healthy relationship, without which you cannot hope to proceed towards a life-long relationship. So, while that might seem unromantic, it actually offers security, reassurance and trust, together as a couple, and with a few exciting plans in the bag as a bonus. What could be more romantic than that?
